From a Huge sceptic to 100% Convert

dad and babe

I thought I’d send you an “eat my words” email just in case it maybe helps any of the dads you meet. I don’t know if you could tell but (I suspect like many dads) I was a huge sceptic about HypnoBirthing. I was very keen to be supportive of what E wanted so...

Wishing you a Wonderful Winter Solstice, Yuletide etc

gratitude circle of light for Winter Solstice

I hope you all have a really wonderful time this festive time of year.  We had a lovely celebration this evening using a brilliant bit of inspiration from the Green Parent magazine… We took it in turns to light a tea light and place it in a circle and as we each did so...

Cord Clamping

cord clamping

I’ve been meaning to a post on cord clamping for a while, but this post on “The Stir” has prompted me to get going with it. My feelings on the matter are that regardless of any additional future benefits of delayed cord clamping, the immediate benefit of allowing the baby a bit of extra...

International Babywearing week October 2012

ibw

Well its that time of year again. A great celebration of carrying our babies. Local group, Sheffield Slings, has been awarded a fab award by International Babywearing, as best outreach group by non-vendor. Even if you aren’t slinging your baby yet, its well worth getting in touch with this bunch of ladies. One of...

Guest blog – B*Zumba… We brought the joy to Sheffield in dance

bzumba

I simply love the idea of supporting families in welcoming their babies into the world with as much joy as possible… spreading the joy has become a really important part of who I have become, and this journey has taken me in the direction of Zumba which fills people’s lives with joy, passion, dance...

Refresher

mum bump n child webFor those of you who have done a HypnoBirthing course before for a previous baby, and are looking to refresh your memory with the techniques and get into the pregnancy; a refresher course is a perfect way to do this.  Even if you had a birth which did run into the realms of special circumstances, it is still possible to get the birth that you want.

I run refresher sessions privately, but there are times where I can join you up with a other clients who are also wishing for a second HypnoBirthing experience.  I use the following format:

1st session

  • Run as early as you start thinking about it after you have gone into your 2nd trimester.
  • Debrief from previous birth experience (unless this isn’t necessary – we’ve already done it!)
  • Develop a plan of activities to be included in the course
  • Birth videos
  • Review relaxation techqniques

2nd session

  • Run close to your due date
  • Review birth plan
  • Review “things to do in labour”
  • Fill in the gaps in knowledge
  • Birth videos

Course cost on request…  this can be shared with another couple if they have done the course before.
The sessions are run in your home, weekday evenings.

Why do they do that?

Well, I’m drawn to write this post today after someone, a complete stranger did her best to undermine me, and my son in public.  My question is “why?”. Why would a stranger who hasn’t spent any time with me or my children feel it is appropriate to correct and undermine my parenting strategies. Is...
